Today, parts of the island are protected as a National Park, including the western part of the island, the Big Lake, the Small Lake and Soline Bay.

In the field north-east of the village near Bilin žal beach, there used to be a rural estate from the Roman times, villa rustic. Prosperous and influential land owners from the town of Korčula built summer houses called “kaštel” on the best sites around Lumbarda. Some of them date from the 16th century but are still well preserved or even inhabited by local families
Once we reach Lumbarda, an assortment of refreshing juices, water and local cookies will be served in a local outdoor hotel café.
