Stone crosses hiking tour

Our hiking tour starts from typical Mediterranean town of Cavtat. On our route, we will pass by the Church of St. Đurđa (George) which dates back to the 15th century up to the charming small village of Močići where Mithraeum, the ancient sanctuary of the god Mithras is located. His cult was widespread in this region from the 2nd to the 6th century.

Along the path you will discover many stone crosses. Their purpose was significant in the past during the procession and celebration of Blessing the fields ceremony. In this area we will also find various endemic plants, as well as wild aromatic herbs of the region whose scent will follow us throughout the way.

After a short rest we will proceed towards delightful town of Čilipi, the biggest settlement in Konavle. This is surely the best place to meet the tradition of Konavle. The largest church in Konavle, the parish church of St. Nicholas, and a square surrounded by governmental and family stone houses are all located in Čilipi. Our journey continues through lovely Konavle valley where you can see beautiful vineyards maintained with much love and care. At the end of the tour, we will come to the adventure park Cadmos Village where, despite of its theme, you can relax on the 7-meter-high oak tree terrace with stunning views of Konavle valley and enjoy peaceful natural surroundings.
